Stephanie Keilani - 7mos and 3 days

It was another one of those days. We are always excited ( my wife and I ), when we are going to be going to see Dra Turizo. This is in part, because, we are going to see our daughter once again. The questions, kept arising; how is she doing ? is she growing ? how much does she weigh ? is she ok ? The great thing about today's technology, you can pretty much see, how the bundle of joy is doing in mama's tummy.

Stefi Keilani, is definitely growing. She is right now, 4lbs, per the sonogram we just did. She has big cheeks ( watch out, daddy loves to just pinch them ) I hope she likes it. I know, I used to do that to my sister, when she was just a baby. We were so happy, that she is doing well. All the tests were good, and that she is perfectly on pace to come join us in July. We were a little sad, as we were not able to capture everything on video. The video capability was down, when we were there.

It is simply amazing. Can't wait to see her.

Until next time.

Nat's Baby Shower - Bogota

Well, after getting back from the U.S. We were tired, and really wanting to get back to Medellin. After a brief stint in Bogota, on the way back to Medellin. The family ( mainly Gloria and Mama Myriam ) threw Nat a baby shower. It was nice, to see familiar faces, friends and acquaintances, that we haven't seen in a while. Not to mention, lots of clothes for Stefi Keilani.

It was really a mellow affair, with everyone enjoying a dose of Mixed fried rice, lots of costena beer, brownie and vanilla ice cream. It was nice, to see that everyone is doing well, and getting abreast on the lastest gossip from everyone else.

Overall, it was a great evening.

Until next time.

Tests and more Tests for Nat and the baby and Tiramisu cooking class !

Ever wonder, if all these tests are really necessary ? What I mean, is back in the early days, I was wondering, if the women of the world, needed to take all these tests. It seemed that a lot of those babies did turn out ok.

We were up and running pretty early, as I had to drop Nat off, to Laboratorio Echeveria in Laureles. They had to do some pre-natal tests. One of a thousand, that she already took. Safety First ! Anyways, we were on a time table as Kai ( Super star Frenchy ) had his lessons at 9:30am. Well, great thing, yours truly is a master planner, and got everything taken care off. Oh, did I say, breakfast is served. No, I wasn't cooking breakfast. But, one of our favorite breakfast places in Medellin - Triga Pan at the corner of 35 and the round point heading out to Pizza 1969. I normally opt for the Tamal, it is really good at this place, and fresh. The problem is, the service is normally pretty slow. So, we went and ordered some fresh wheat bread (pan integral) and egg whites, with everything on it. I had the milo ( cold as can be, and Nat had the Avena ) Low and behold, it took as long, as if we would have ordered the Tamal. I wasn't happy about that. But, my goodness, those eggs were so good. Almost as good, as nat's breakfast eggs in the morning.

Walloped our breakfast, and headed back to the apartment for Kai's lesson. Oh, did I say, there is a cooking class this afternoon ! Yeah ! One of our neighbors, is a chef, and is teaching Nat a variety of stuff, on a weekly basis. Today was Tiramisu. As usual, since women love to gossip, the 1 hr class, turned out to be a 3 hr chismes session. But, the by product, Tiramisu, which I just finished devouring; was oh SO GOOD ! But, my only complaint ! Let us cut down on the alcohol. Wow, Nat put some punch into that Tiramisu. I love it !

Until next time.

Another day in Paradise

Being in Colombia, it really tests once patience and understanding. Now, if you have lived here all your life, then it is no big deal. I on the other hand, will hold people accountable. If they tell me, they are going to be here at a certain time, they better be here. Well, it happened again. The window guy from the construction company, did not show up, so I am a little ticked off.

Nat, went downstairs, but the engineers can't be found. I keep telling her, to make sure, you do the follow up. Even, if it seems like, we are a pain in the a _ _. I don't care. It is their fault, and they should own up to it.

I had an early day today, as I had to take Kai to the park, for his weekly training. He has a obedience training teacher, that comes everyday M-F. He is starting to get it, meaning, chilled demeanor with other dogs and people. So, I was there, getting my cardio at the same time, at Parque Floresta. I just like the action in the morning, people heading to work, school, etc.

Until next time,

Frederick

Say hello to Stephanie Keilani

My wife and I finally made it to Dra Turizo's office. It is our 1 hr appointment for Nat's sonogram. I really did not know what to expect, but the mere fact, that I get to see our child in 3D, was pretty amazing. We just finished lunch, and I was wondering, whether it will affect, if any the procedure. Will our child look bloated ? Siesta time ? I wanted to make sure, he/she was up and running, and not sleeping. Well, low and behold, once the 3D machine was up and running, there it was, an amazing thing, our baby in the midst of being seen. The anticipation was up there, is it a boy, is it a girl ? Honestly, we were happy either way. But, still the mere fact, that we can actually call this human in Nat's body, and call him/her by his/her first name, was amazing.

So, Dr Turizo proceeded to go through the motion, looking at all the body parts, pointing out the placenta, uterus, ambiotic fluid, etc.. You get to point, from body parts, heart beat, measuring the legs, the head, pointing out the brain. Everything was perfectly normal, and you guessed it, the baby is growing. One thing, that stood out, was that our baby, has a strong heart. Great, maybe, we have the next Steffi Graf in the making or Maria Sharapova. We were delighted, that she was healthy as can be. So, I know, you probably already know, that it is a baby girl, she finally pointed out..... There you go... Genitalia part. It is a girl ! Yes, now we have a name.

Enjoy the video. Needless to say, it was a 25 minute video. I tried to get the best parts in minimize it to 2 minutes.

Moon over Medellin

As my wife and I, were watching a suspense thriller a couple of nights ago. I started looking outside towards our balcony window, and saw the moon towering over Medallo. I knew I had to take a picture.
